I don't think you need to do a prequel. I'd love to see a story of someone working at a modern Jurassic World after the events of the previous movies, and having to cope with collecting a necessary paycheck from a cheap capitalist company after he just saw a coworker get eaten on the clock. Dinosaurs bringing on late stage capitalism, and the one guy in denial about it.

The Jake Johnson character had some juice in Jurassic World, give me more from his perspective, it's more relatable than Chris Pratt controlling Raptors with his hands.

Great read. I was in middle school when the movie came out. My friends and I all had our parents take us to the theater and were just blown away. It's been probably been decades since I've seen the original. Think a rewatch is due. Even if you lose some magic by it not being on the big screen.

I'm a little older than you. I was just out of high school and I saw Jurassic Park twice opening weekend, one with the brand-new, super ultra deluxe DTS sound (which basically just had the volume cranked up louder than other theaters).

My funniest memory of that is going to see Last Action Hero the following weekend. Lines were still out the door for Jurassic Park on probably four or five screens while the single auditorium for Last Action Hero was barely half full.

I've been doing a podcast introducing my kids to famous movies. Of course this one had to be on the list.

I love this.. I don't know if your familiar with Drew McWeeny, use to be a critic on AICN. But he use to have a series where he introducing his kids to different movies from his era. Beyond the individual movies, I'm curious to hear how your kids have felt about getting introduced to films from your generation. To be clear, it's exactly what i want to do, but I'm also preparing myself for my kid wanting to see something different. I think back to the way my dad introduced me to movies, and we were on the same wavelength and only started drifting when I was in my 20s.

My kids are typically down with the stuff I show them, but one in particular has a problem with movies where the special effects are too dated. For example, he hated both Superman and Tron.

Andor version perquel of Jurassic Park is actually a really good idea. Make it super Michael Chriteon-y. Things go wrong. Experiments sideways. Etc...

But you're really right. This and T2 were the most wonder I ever felt in the theater. Then Matrix came close. Nothing else has really ever holds a candle to those. Now we can do everything, which means nothing is amazing.

T2 and Matrix are definitely on that list. It’s more difficult to get that feeling as we get older but Fury Road also came close.

You're right. I still do have this feeling sometime. Actually, I saw "Nirvana The Band The Show The Movie" and I had that same feeling. Like, "I can't belive what I'm watching." It's truly a miracle.

I really do consider this the good standard of Hollywood / blockbuster cinema, of which anything else the major studios produce fail to live up to.

Love the idea of an Andor style prequel series on the construction of the first park! In the right hands that could be really interesting!

It’s a good idea!! I just don’t know if Universal is crazy enough to greenlight Jurassic Park without dinosaurs
